Da journey to us
The journey is individual for each person arriving. We are happy to give you a few options, but the route depends on where you are coming from, are you taking the ferries to Sweden from Germany or Denmark, are you entering via Norway or are you taking the plane.
Are you traveling with dogs and children? If you are unsure, please ask us, we will be happy to give you tips for a suitable journey for you.
Ferry options from Germany
- Puttgarden to Rödby (DK), Öresund Bridge to Sweden/Malmö
- Travemunde to Trelleborg
- Rostock to Trelleborg
- Travemunde to Malmo
- Kiel to Oslo (from Oslo to us it is about 280 km)
- Kiel to Gothenburg (from Gothenburg to us it is about 500 km) - ferry runs overnight
- Fredrikshaven (DK) to Gothenburg
For us, the ferries Fredrikshaven - Gothenburg or Puttgarden - Rödby were always the best options for travel time and dog in the car.
The Puttgarden-Rödby ferry only takes about 45 minutes. Here you can be very flexible in your planning, as the ferries depart about every 30 minutes. The journey then goes a bit through Denmark in the direction of Copenhagen until you enter there on the Örseund Bridge in the direction of Sweden.
Entering via the Öresund ridges is always a beautiful sight. The journey then continues north from Malmö via Gothenburg, Karlstad, Torsby, Malung, Sälen.
The Fredrikshaven ferry to Gothenburg has always been a good solution for us to enter the country. The ferry time is only about 3.5 hours.
From Gothenburg it is very fast to us, about 500 km. The journey goes via Karlstad, Torsby, Malung, Sälen.
Entering via Kiel - Gothenburg is also very relaxing as the ferry runs overnight. In the evening it leaves at around 6 p.m. and you can be relaxed in Gothenburg by around 9 a.m. in the morning.
And of course you can take a wonderful route through southern Sweden and look at a lot along the way and enjoy the journey - depending on how many vacation days are available.
Arriving by plane
Destination airport at any time of the year is Stockholm. From there you can then take the train to Mora. We would be happy to organize transport for you for the last 100 km to us.
It is a dream in the winter season. The Scandinavien Mountains Airport in Sälen is available to us here.
From Lübeck it only takes about 2 hours to reach Sälen. Of course, a pick-up service can also be organized here.
You can also fly via Oslo. The rental car then takes you the last bit to Stationshuset.
Entry with a pet
When entering the country with a dog/cat, please remember the entry requirements (vaccinations, age, registration, etc.)
When entering via Norway there are still special conditions (deworming).
Pets must be registered before entering Sweden. You can do this online in advance.
